Our Story - a message from our Founder, Keli Wilson
The inspiration for AlertID came in the summer of 2009 after a potentially devastating situation.
While vacationing with friends and family in California, my husband and I were separated from our three children during a visit to an amusement park. Thankfully, we were reunited with our children later, but it was the longest 45-minutes of our lives.
Due to our experience, my best friend and I came up with the idea for AlertID. Our mission was to develop a tool that would help protect families and communities by creating a communication system that would allow users to communicate with public safety officials during an emergency and for authorities to communicate with the residents in the communities in which they serve.
AlertID was launched in January 2011. By partnering with local law enforcement agencies, AlertID is able to provide threat alerts and advisories to users about crime, sex offenders, missing children, natural disasters and severe weather. Alerts and advisories are available on web, mobile and tablet applications as well as through emails and texts.
We thank you for visiting our site and hope that you will share the power of AlertID with your friends, family and neighbors. We strongly believe that knowledge is power and together we can all help to make our communities a safer place to live. |
